Laser
Their are a lot of benifits to laser.
First of all, laser hair removal is precise. The laser only targets pigmented areas on the skin, such as the hair follicle. This is why only the hair follicle is burned and not the skin surrounding the area. How does laser hair removal work? The hair on our body grows in three stages: anagen, telogen and catagen. Laser hair removal is most effective on the hairs in the early part of the anagen stage, when hair is actively growing. A concentrated beam of light (the laser) is aimed at the hair follicle. The laser than converts its energy into heat, heats up the hair follicle and prevents that follicle from growing any further.
Secondly, laser hair removal has been proven to be extremely effective. Hair removal lasers have been in use since 1997 and have been approved for “permanent hair reduction” in the United States by the FDA. According to the FDA, “permanent hair reduction” is defined as being the long-term, stable reduction in the number of hairs regrowing after a treatment regime.
Laser hair removal will permanently reduce body hair, but there’s no scientific proof that it can permanently remove ALL body hair. For laser hair removal treatments to be the most effective, the hair being removed needs to be caught in the early part of the anagen stage, when the hair is actively growing. This is why it is so important to receive laser hair removal in a series of consecutive treatments, every 4 to 6 weeks. Most clients report that after a series of sessions, there’s a significant reduction in the amount of body hair that grows back. The hair that does grow back tends to be sparse, fine and lighter in color.
